FCV 97 is a premier U14 girls travel soccer team based in Northern Virginia. The team competed in Division 1 of the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) this past Spring before moving on to play in the ECNL this Fall. The team’s focus is on achieving excellent soccer play in a competitive travel environment through hard work, individual and team development, player confidence, decision making, and enjoyment.
The FCV 97 roster is filled with talented and passionate players from Western Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties, and is professionally coached by nationally-recognized, A-Licensed coach, Terry Foley, and assistant coachs Gerry Austin and Dave Edwards.
Beginning in the Fall of 2011, the team will compete exclusively in the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) in the Midatlantic Division against many of the top clubs in the mid-Atlantic:
- Richmond Strikers
- McLean MPS
- Bethesda SC
- Freestate Soccer Alliance
- FC Bucks
- FC DELCO
- Penn Fusion
ECNL will consist of 7-8 Home/Away games against other teams in the region. In the Spring, the team will compete again (7-8 games) with the same regional teams and wrap-up the season at the ECNL National Tournament in June in Illinois. In addition, the team will participate in 4-5 other regional tournaments against ECNL and non-ECNL clubs as the schedule allows.
